Adam Makos is an American author and historian who was born in 1981 in the United States. He is best known for his books A Higher Call, Devotion, and Spearhead. He is also the founder of the non-profit organization Valor Studios, which is dedicated to preserving the stories of World War II veterans. Makos graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003 with a degree in history. He then went on to work as a journalist for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and the Associated Press. In 2008, he published his first book, A Higher Call, which tells the story of a German fighter pilot and an American bomber pilot during World War II. The book was a New York Times bestseller and was adapted into a feature film in 2018. Makos has since written two more books, Devotion and Spearhead, both of which were also New York Times bestsellers. He is currently working on a new book about the Battle of the Bulge. In 2019, Makos published a biography titled Spearhead biography about a tank gunner during the United States invasion of Nazi Germany. Only one week after publication the novel made its first appearance of the New York Times Best Seller list. Going as high as number 2 on the nonfiction list.
