Will Bowes and his poignant single 'Mad At The World'

Will Bowes is best known for being the lead singer of Toronto based band Gold Complex, in addition to being an actor whose credits include House At The End Of The Street, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Alias Grace, and the forthcoming Clara where he will star alongside Patrick J. Adams and Troian Bellisario.

However, just a few weeks ago, Will released his very own poignant single titled ‘Mad At The World’. Inspired by the recent attacks in Toronto, Will wanted to address the negative energy experienced by the people of the city and offer up a message of hope and unity.

‘Mad At The World’, a striking pop ballad, showcases Will’s soulful vocal perfectly as he encourages us to look past the fear we experience. The empowering offering encourages us to stand up for what we believe in during times of adversity. We cannot let hate win, and as hard as it can be, we must try and remain positive and continue living our lives.

Speaking about the track, Will said: “I consider myself to be a pretty positive and optimistic person. I don’t think I’m alone in feeling that the general state of the world has weighed heavily lately. Beyond the obvious social and political context, the recent attacks in Toronto were what really hit home and inspired me to write this song.”

“Sometimes looking beyond fear and staying positive can feel impossible, especially in times of adversity. But it’s important to forge on and not admit defeat, which is why I wanted to make sure the song also reflected that sense of optimism.”

Whilst Will has unveiled this powerful offering, he is still very much hard at work with his band Gold Complex. As their debut EP continues to be on regular radio rotation on CBC and CIUT nationwide, we can also expect their full length studio album New Soul this fall.
